About this Template:
When to Use: Your spouse has filed for divorce, legal separation and/or dissolution of a domestic partnership and you need to respond.
Why: The petition was your spouse’s opportunity to state his or her position and the response is your chance to state which areas you disagree on. Additionally, if you don’t respond, your spouse can obtain a ‘default’ against you which allows him/her to proceed without your involvement.
