Learn More About Matthew Beaty

People often come to me during some of the most emotionally challenging times of their lives. Whether they’re facing divorce, a parenting dispute, or other family-related transitions, my role is to offer clarity, compassion, and grounded legal guidance. I believe that family law should focus on building stability—not creating more conflict—and that with the right approach, it’s possible to move forward with dignity, respect, and a sense of control. My practice focuses on family law, including divorce, legal separation, parenting plans, child support, and spousal maintenance. I understand that every family is unique, and I take the time to truly listen to each client’s situation, priorities, and concerns. I aim to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard and empowered to make informed decisions about their future. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is helping clients resolve their family law issues through alternative dispute resolution methods, especially collaborative divorce and mediation. These non-adversarial processes prioritize open communication, privacy, and cooperative problem-solving. They allow clients to maintain control over the outcome, avoid the financial and emotional cost of courtroom battles, and preserve important family relationships—especially when children are involved. In collaborative divorce, both spouses commit to resolving their issues outside of court, supported by a team of trained professionals that may include attorneys, mental health professionals, and financial specialists. This team-based approach fosters constructive dialogue and customized solutions that truly reflect the values and needs of the family. Mediation offers a similarly respectful environment, where a neutral mediator helps both parties negotiate and reach mutually acceptable agreements. It’s often less stressful, more cost-effective, and more child-focused than traditional legal processes. I’ve found that clients who resolve their differences through these methods tend to experience more lasting satisfaction with the outcomes—and greater peace of mind moving forward. My work is grounded in clear communication, thoughtful planning, and a genuine commitment to helping people through life’s hardest transitions. I believe that family law doesn’t have to be combative—and that a peaceful, respectful resolution is possible with the right tools and support. Outside of my practice, I value many of the same things I strive to protect for my clients: time with family, balance, and well-being. I love cooking meals that bring people together, staying active through hiking and strength training, and finding time to simply be present with the people I care about. These parts of my life keep me centered and remind me why I do the work I do. Whether you’re just beginning to think about divorce or are ready to take the next step in reshaping your family’s future, I’m here to guide you with care, clarity, and experience—so you can move forward with confidence and peace.
